NONOS in Port d’ Andratx:
The art gallery ‘ArteCasa’ has been located in the heart of the Balearic Islands on Mallorca in Port d’ Andratx for over 18 years. The gallery offers a variety of high-quality works by internationally renowned artists. In addition to Jeff Koons and many more, Franziska and Mercedes Welte – the NONOS – are also represented at ArteCasa.
The history of the harbour town of Port d’Andratx is young. Until the emergence of tourism in the second half of the 20th century, Port d’Andratx was little more than a fishing harbour. For centuries, the locals had to contend with pirate raids and preferred to live in safe regions away from the coast.
The small town of Andtrax is located five kilometres inland from the coast. In contrast to the fishing harbour, it was first mentioned in a document in 1236.
